We will forever remember the colors of the small casa’s and the peeling paint of the adobe walls, the laundry on the line and hanging over fences, we’ll remember the chickens scurrying across the dirt road, the worn out lawn chairs beside doorways, the motorcycles with entire families squeezed tightly together, the cobblestone roads, the poor frazzled dogs laying in the shade of anything they can find, the taco stands along the road sides, the corner markets, the grandma’s sweeping the sidewalks, and tossing small containers of water on the road to keep down the dust, the gigantic and perfectly shaped trees, the ice cream man pulling his cart down the street calling out.... nieve... the children playing with sticks and rocks or on the steps of the little stores, the little tienda shops with dresses and pretty shirts, bags and more.. the old pick up trucks full and piled high with pineapples and watermelon, limes and coconuts, the burning fields, the rock walls, and the quiet burro’s (who are my favorite).
How can we ever forget the things we’ve seen, and heard and felt.
Today was a day to take it all in as we drove back to Tepic from Santiago.

Back in Tepic, just across the street from
our hotel we caught some pictures of the
farmers burning these sugar cane fields
very very close to the busy road.
The next morning, we saw this worker's
method of mowing the grass on this hill.
