November Mission Council 11-1-17

Great Day!
We have had a wonderful day with our mission leaders in Mission Council today!

First, we had a little of this...

and a little of that...

Then, we got serious!

President taught for some time.
He taught about the Urgency in this
work of the Lord.
Urgent is a word we must know and understand.

We must be better Finders!

*First impressions of the spirit
*What are the manifestations of our faith?
*Courage to Act in faith
*The most important element in this work
is the Spirit of the Lord.

Defining
~new investigators, and
 ~progressing investigators

*we must teach simply
*asking questions of the soul
*courage to open our mouths
*attitude has everything to do
with our success
*expectation of miracles

Faith is power, and it can cause things to happen
that need to happen.  It can cause a soul who is good,
but dormant, to awaken to God.
Elder Neil L. Anderson

Our council was engaged and in tune with what
they were being taught today.

I talked about Faith in the Finding
In our mission….We see miracles!!

 Here is our promise:
If you will have faith enough
   to open your mouths,
God will honor your words.

Bullet Points:
-God is able to do His own work (2 Nephi 27: 20)
-He has offered to us, this opportunity to participate. D&C 39:17
-We have been called to labor in the Lord’s vineyard.  D&C 39:13.
-We know that the laborers are few.(D&C 121:34-36)

** We have heaven on our side! **
      Moroni 7:29-33

“As surely as the sun rises in the morning,
faith produces hope -
the expectation of good things to come,
and brings us the power of the Lord
to sustain us in this work”
Elder Marcus B. Nash

***Ether is a prophet who demonstrated Faith as a principle of power (Ether chapter 12)
A prophet, he could not be restrained because of the spirit of the Lord that was in him
He did cry from the morning until the going down of the sun, exhorting the people to believe.
He was undaunted, he was not weary, he continued forward with Faith!
He taught the people that it is faith which anchors the souls of men
He prophesied great and marvelous things.
But, they would not believe, because they could not see.
They had no faith.

***Faith anchors the souls of men…
How is faith an anchor?
What are we anchored to?
3 great truths:
1.Faith is a Gift from God, bestowed as a reward for personal righteousness
2.Faith is an assurance of the spirit that moves us to Act
3.When faith is exercised, Faith Increases
How can this kind of faith produce the hope we need as missionaries to Find the elect?
What sacrifices are we making to see miracles?

President Clayton's game:
We must all be concentrating on
the same purpose!

The assistants talked about:
Asking for references after
every single lesson!
