Baptisms for the week of 4-17-17

Sagai´s Baptism
Sagui is a very special person. When she came to know the gospel she had many difficulties and trials which impeded her being able to follow the example of the Savior and be baptized. The work of many servants of the Lord made it so the seed that was sown in her when she came to the knowledge of the gospel could grow, little by little, until it flourished. She has held on to the faith and the testimony she received of the gospel and the Book of Mormon and put her trust in the Savior so that she could fulfill that which the Lord has commanded in her life and be baptized with a strong desire to faithfully serve the Lord day by day in her life and help others, especially her family. She is a pioneer in the gospel and wants to make known what has brought her such great joy.

ELDER RUIZ Y ELDER CHRISTENSEN

Sister Paola´s Baptism
Sister Paola Ochoa Medina is a young woman with a sincere desire to live the gospel. She came to know the gospel through the Gonzales Flores Family, who have fellowshipped her wonderfully. When we met her she had already read in the Book of Mormon through the thirtieth chapter in Alma. In the beginning she did not have the support of her family, yet with the passing of time her family accepted her choice and even became interested in learning of the church themselves. Paola has trusted in the promises of the Lord. She has seen many miracles in her life since the moment she began to live the gospel and they have continued to occur after her baptism, “she has shown for the fruits of her actions that she has truly repented.”

Elder Dietrich y Elder Domingo

Rafa and Carmen´s Baptism
Rafa and Carmen were searching for a change in their lives and we were searching for investigators, after much searching we met one another and they sought us. We found them in the church building and invited them to attend church. They did so and showed interest in our message. They had some challenges along their path to conversion yet by overcoming these challenges they have obtained a strong testimony. Their goal is to enter the Temple. It has been a miracle here in the Branch. Their family is seeing the changes in them and they have become open to learning the gospel. The Branch is ready and unified to help seek out and fellowship others. Without a doubt this is the power of God at work.

Natanael´s Baptism
Natanael was a reference we received from a less active sister, he is her husband. He told us that he did not want to listen to the missionaries and he got upset every time they came to visit his wife. Yet he also told us “I got tired of doing wrong, I want to change, I want to stop drinking I want to quit smoking, I want to stop fighting with my wife, and I want to listen to you and see what happens.” After many trials he could feel a change in his heart and felt true repentance for all the wrongs he had done. A little while back they were married and he got prepared to be baptized. He had goal to be baptized on the twenty-ninth of April, but he felt prepared and we moved up the date of his baptism for the fifteenth of April. He told us “Jesus is my role model to follow.” He is very happy and excited to have experienced many changes. He desires to be an example to his family and friends and has been giving us references of people to visit. He has a great desire to share that which he has found to be delicious, to partake of the fruit of the gospel like Lehi did with his family.  He is very excited to bless the Sacrament this coming Sunday. He is a truly converted to the Lord.

Ameca Branch Conference

We scooted over to Ameca for their Branch Conference this morning.
We love Ameca!!  It was a gorgeous drive.
We happened onto this rancher retrieving his stray horse.

We waved at him and he tipped his hat to us.

and another one working his field...

and countless trucks stacked with sugar cane.

It was so wonderful to meet with these saints and feel the spirit of this Branch.

Every time we go to  Ameca, I look for this sweet grandma.
Sister Guillerma Guardado is 92 years old and faithful
as the day is long.  I love her bright smile and gentle way.

We love our Elders serving here right now, Elder Santos and Elder Estepan.

President Munoz and his family
are fairly recent converts.  He serves faithfully
as Branch President.
His three little girls are so darling.
I can never resist bringing a little treat for them.

Evelyn is seven, Sarahi is four and little
Cristina is three.  They are precious!

It was a wonderful day together!

Mission President's Seminar

Last week was our mission president seminar
in Mexico City.  It was two days jam packed
with instruction and new information
for us to implement here in our mission.
We are excited to meet with our mission
council and discuss the things we learned.

We were privileged to be taught from our
Area presidency Elder Piper, Elder Pino
and Elder Valenzuela.
We sure love these brethren and their wives.

A highlight was visiting with and
refreshing our association with these
other fellow mission presidents.

Autlan Branch Conference 4-23-17

We had such a wonderful day Sunday traveling to and meeting with the saints in Autlan for their branch conference.
We left early and dropped by Barra de Navidad to pick up zone leaders, Elder Long and Elder Rodriguez to come with us.  What a great day we had together. Here are some pictures of our drive there and back, and with the sweet members there in Autlan.

The gorgeous ocean midst early Sunday morning.

The sun just peeking out

Banana trees.  They tuck the fruit into those blue bags,
sometimes wrapping them in newspaper
to protect them as they finish growing.

Gorgeous Cathedral entering Barra de Navidad

Interesting sights and sounds and smells along our way!

President Clayton took this panoramic photo.
of the congregation, a little skewed, but he got everyone in.

My regular picture of each side of the congregation.

The Branch President standing with his son to the left.

Three impressive young men.
Two sang in the choir, all three were
well dressed and polite and most impressive...
seriously preparing for their missions.

On our way home.  We couldn't resist this old farmer
with his three pack mules loaded up.

These are the zone leaders serving in Manzanillo
at this time,  Elder Rodriguez and Elder Long

They live in Barra de Navidad.
The Barra de Navidad branch meets in Cihuatlan
in the House of Prayer there.

These are dedicated leaders. We are proud of them.

We made quite a few stops today to see members, and places.
This small Le Huerta group meets in this members
home each Sunday

President Clayton couldn't resist this handsome guy.
He came right over to President.

who fed him the rest of his apple.
